Shifting Metropolis

Shifting Metropolis aims to let the inhabitants of the city describe it by gathering and mapping material found and created. Any media can be used, it doesn't matter whether it's images, sound, video, text, code, 3d models, patches...

All material is geographically linked to a map and fed into an audiovisual framework, making an interactive installation that can be browsed by visitors on sunday night. The workshop is of a technological, but not a technical nature. They're will be no teaching and there is no knowledge necessary of anything but computer basics. For those who are more technically inclined, we'll be experimenting with a rudimentary arduino GPS device and QR-codes. The premiere in Skopje was a great succes, we are delighted to let the inhabitants of Brussels sketch their view of the city.
