The Internet Studies Center at the University of Minnesota addresses compelling questions surrounding the social, ethical, legal, and rhetorical aspects of the Internet. The Center is based in the Rhetoric Department but is an interdisciplinary effort drawing on faculty from around the University and industry partners. Even people who do not own a computer and have no opportunity to "surf the net" could not have missed the news stories about the Internet, many of which speculate about its effects on the ever-increasing number of people who are on line.
